(a Harvard Negotiation Project initiative)
Director: William Ury
The Korea Negotiation Initiative explores obstacles to a negotiated resolution of the Korean nuclear crisis. Particular focus is placed on identifying potential set up moves that would make negotiation possible, identifying areas for mutual gain, improving communication channels for reducing the risk of inadvertent war, and the potential role for third parties, informal and official, in facilitating a resolution. In conjunction with events at Harvard that include knowledgeable and involved parties, research products include scholarly articles on the research questions mentioned and on informal “Track 1.5” conversations.
