There are many thousands of treaties governing the use of shared waters around the world. Most of these treaties must be re-negotiated after a fixed number of years. Some treaties, like the Nile Agreements, involve all the bipartisan countries that are part of the river basin. In this session you will explore how countries negotiate new borders and re-allocate diminishing water supplies and respond to the increasing demands on non-governmental actors for a role in transboundary water negotiations.
