A Larger Scope for the Field of Negotiation?

Chris Honeyman is co-editor (with Andrea Kupfer Schneider, HLS ‘92) of a new book, The Negotiator’s Fieldbook (ABA 2006.) With eighty contributing authors, it is the most comprehensive reference the field. Literally dozens of people who have been closely associated with the Program on Negotiation contributed to this book, and the October 30 lunch discussion will be an effort to place the book in context. We look forward to a discussion that includes other work going on, by PON faculty and others who are also working to enlarge the conceptual basis of negotiation and help make practice more sophisticated.
Chris is managing partner of Convenor Conflict Management, a consulting firm based in Madison, WI and Washington, DC. He has served as mediator, arbitrator and in other neutral capacities in more than 2,000 disputes since the 1970s, and as a consultant to numerous academic and practical conflict resolution programs in the U.S. and abroad. Chris was director of a fifteen-year succession of Hewlett Foundation-funded research-and-development programs of national scale, most recently “Broad Field” (2002-2005.) The Negotiator’s Fieldbook is the final product of that project.
