About the Speaker:
Dr. Amro Taleb is a Syrian and Canadian citizen and businessman who conducts conflict resolution and education work in Syria and neighboring countries. He serves as a consultant to several NGO’s and has established an academic center in Turkey to provide education to Syrian refugee children and orphans. He has been involved in humanitarian work since the war began.
Previously, Dr. Taleb worked as an environmental management consultant for the Ministry of Environment of Syria, Lafarge, British Petroleum, and various other large companies in the Middle East, North Africa, and North America. His areas of expertise include renewable energy, oil & gas, and water management. Currently Dr. Taleb owns an export/import, logistic and construction company in Turkey/Syria border.
Dr. Taleb holds a masters degree in engineering from the University of Toronto and a doctorate from the Swiss Management Center. He has taught at the Syrian International University for Science and Technology, in the Petroleum Engineering Faculty, and the Arab International University in Syria, as in the Business Faculty.
