Join us in exploring various applications of restorative justice in the U.S. criminal context as well as post-conflict contexts around the world. This year’s symposium will include five events held at HLS, including a keynote address by Dr. Carl Stauffer and a documentary film screening on restorative justice in Sierra Leone. February 5th, 4pm-5pm in WCC B015

  • Keynote Address by Dr. Carl Stauffer – “Restorative Justice: Transitional and Transformative Critiques”

February 5th, 5:30pm-7pm in WCC 1019

  • Panel Discussion on “Integrating Restorative Justice into the U.S. Criminal Context”, with moderator Carl Stauffer and speakers Pierre Berastain, Erin Freeborn, Chris Moser, and Kaia Stern.

February 6th, 12pm-1pm in WCC 3019

  • Interactive Workshop with the Symbolic Reparations Research Project, focused on designing and implementing symbolic reparations.

February 7th, 11:45am-1pm in WCC 2012

  • Panel Discussion on “Using Restorative Practices to Address Communal Harm, Internationally”, with moderator Andrew Mamo and speakers Dr. Ronan Feehily, Thalia Gonzalez, and Libby Hoffman.

February 7th, 5pm-7pm in WCC 1010

  • Film Screening of “Fambul Tok” – a film about sustained truth-telling circles in the wake of Sierra Leone’s civil war – with the film’s creator Libby Hoffman.
