Langdell South, Harvard Law SchoolFree Admission, Pizza And DrinksOur Friends at the Bank provides an insider’s view of high stakes negotiations between the World Bank and the government of war-torn Uganda. While Ugandans argue for the need for funds to fight rebel insurgents and improve roads and infrastructure, the Bank and the IMF favor spending for education. The Ugandans face crushing debt and political instability as they struggle to negotiate with a variety of western diplomats and World Bank and IMF representatives.

Film Director Peter Chappell was given unprecedented access, and with Our Friends at the Bank, you are at the negotiating table over a 14-month period.

After the PON film showing, Alain Lempereur, HLS Lecturer of the Winter Workshop in Negotiation and Director of the Institute for Research and Education on Negotiation in Europe (ESSEC Business School, Paris), will lead a discussion with the audience.
