Using an international context, Brandeis University Professor Mari Fitzduff will address how to be a successful mediator, particularly if you are an outside intervener in a conflict.
Mari Fitzduff is Professor of Coexistence at Brandeis University and Director of the Master’s Program in the Slifka Program in Intercommunal Coexistence at Brandeis. Prior to leading the Brandeis Program, Professor Fitzduff was the Chair of Conflict Studies at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland and was also the Director of UNU/INCORE, a United Nations University center for International Conflict Research.
Before joining INCORE, she led efforts to address the longstanding conflict in Northern Ireland and developed the first courses on conflict resolution at the University of Ulster and Queen’s University in the 1980s.
