Connecting Research and Practice in Middle East Negotiations

Event Date: Friday September 21, 2007
Time: 12:15 - 1:30 P.M.
Location: Morgan Courtroom, Austin Hall, Harvard Law School

Can people who represent conflicting ideas find a common process of dialogue, without giving up their core interests? How can people understand, rather than accept, their enemies’ needs? How can the negotiation’s management on both sides influence if not determine the outcome?

Join two leading members of the Israeli Palestinian Negotiating Partners (IPNP), Mrs. Nisreen Abbas, a student at the Kennedy School of Government, and Mr. Moty Cristal, PON visiting scholar, who will address the link between research and practice in Middle East negotiations.

IPNP was founded in 2001 with the goal of bringing together Israeli and Palestinian professionals to teach them the interest-based negotiation practices from the Harvard Negotiation Project. The IPNP network has more than 70 members of Israeli and Palestinian officials.

Bring your lunch — drinks and dessert provided.
