Romeo DallaireFormer Force Commander, United Nations Assistance Mission for RwandaTuesday, April 206:00 - 8:00 pm Pound Hall 101 Harvard Law School— Click for Map In 1994, 800,000 Rwandans were killed in just 100 days. Canadian General Romeo Dallaire, in Rwanda to put into place a peacekeeping force to ensure calm in a country in which a peace treaty between warring tribes had just been signed, had tried frantically to tell the United Nations — and the world — what was about to happen. In the end, he was unable to convince the UN and others to intervene. The Last Just Man shows a haunted Dallaire asking himself what he could have done to prevent disaster. Gen. Dallaire will be present to respond to questions following this 70-minute film. Pizza and beverages will be available beginning at 5:30 pm outside of Pound Hall 101. Co-sponsored with the Harvard Law School Human Rights Program.
