News & Archive(October 19, 2004)Mediation in the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgendered and/or Intersexed (GLBTI) Community
This month's presentation, Evolutions and Earthquakes: Mediation in the GLBTI Community, will feature members of the Community Dispute Settlement Center who have pioneered developing, promoting, and delivering mediation to the GLBTI (Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgendered and/or Intersexed) community for more than a decade. Cynthia Bauman, Court Coordinator, Gail Packer, Executive Director, and Jack Wofford, President, will facilitate a program that explores an overview of the issues involved in mediating in the GLBTI community, including challenging practice considerations, landmark legal cases, and emerging issues. Following the DRF is a Peervision case with Patricia Plettner, a psychotherapist and mediator from Dallas, Texas, who will present a case involving a mediator serving in the limited role as an Allied Professional to assist in an impasse that has occurred during the collaborative law divorce process.
