After the Presentation: Roger Fisher, Susan Hackley, Jamil Mahuad, and Robert Mnookin
Faculty and students had an extraordinary opportunity to discuss international dispute resolution with a former head of state at this December 12, 2002 presentation. Jamil Mahuad, President of Ecuador from 1998-2000, discussed the historic peace treaty he brokered with Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori, ending a decades-long land dispute between the two countries. Roger Fisher, who helped mediate the dispute, introduced Mahuad with recollections of their work together. Mr. Mahuad also discussed his tenure as President of Ecuador, as well as the recent elections in his country. He holds an undergraduate and a law degree from Catholic University in Quito, and an M.P.A degree from the Kennedy School. |
