Program of Instruction for Lawyers

The Harvard Negotiation Project offers two of the week-long negotiation courses available through Harvard's Program of Instruction for Lawyers (PIL). Despite its name, participants need not be lawyers to enroll. Scheduling and registration information is available through the PIL website.

Courses
Basic Negotiation Workshop Taught by HNP Deputy Director Bruce Patton with the special participation of Professor Emeritus Roger Fisher, this workshop provides participants with a conceptual framework for analyzing, preparing for, and conducting negotiations, and offers experience in using this framework. Advanced Negotiation: Difficult Conversations Taught by Sheila Heen, Bruce Patton and Douglas Stone, authors of the bestselling book, Difficult Conversations, this workshop focuses on the interpersonal elements of negotiation. A basic negotiation course is a prerequisite.
