What courses does PON offer?

PON offers a variety of courses, including semester-length courses in negotiation and mediation (the PON Seminars), a series of two- to three-day Executive Education Seminars on a variety of negotiation topics, and week-long negotiation and mediation workshops through Harvard's Program of Instruction for Lawyers. For more information on PON-sponsored courses, please see the Education section of this website.

Do I have to be a student at Harvard or at one of PON's other consortium schools in order to attend a PON course?

No. PON-sponsored courses are open to the general public and do not require affiliation with any of PON's consortium schools. By the same token, enrollment in a PON-sponsored course does not constitute enrollment at any of PON's consortium schools, nor does it include benefits normally accorded to students at those schools (such as library or athletic facility access).

Can I earn a degree in negotiation or dispute resolution through PON?

PON does not offer degrees or courses for credit, though in some cases credit may be arranged with another institution for a PON course such as the semester-length Negotiation or Mediation Seminar. Participants in the PON Seminars, Program of Instruction for Lawyers workshops, and Executive Education Seminars will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Does PON offer any educational materials to the public?

Yes. PON offers a range of books, videos, working papers, teaching exercises, and other negotiation-related materials through its educational resource center, the PON Clearinghouse. For more information, please visit the Clearinghouse website at www.pon.org.

Does PON offer any educational opportunities free of charge?

PON offers a number of educational events that are free and open to the public, including its Dispute Resolution Forum, the PON Film Series, and a variety of short programs such as brown-bag speaker events. For more information, please see "PON Events" below.
