About the Speakers:
Ljubjana Wüstehube is a consultant and mediation trainer with more than 20 years of training experience and about 20 years of mediation practice. Before she became a mediator, she worked as a Russian language interpreter and ran youth exchange programs (mainly German-Russian). In 1998, she co-founded Inmedio, a consultancy based in Berlin and Frankfurt, which provides mediation and organizational development services. Ljubjana co-directs 200-hour mediation courses in cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. She is certified as a mediation trainer by the German and Austrian Federal Associations of Mediation.
Ljubjana has worked with many different clients, target groups and cultures, ranging from violent youths, teachers and social workers to business people, diplomats and proxies of armed rebel groups. Adapting her training methods and content to the specific context is one of her particular strengths.
Ljubjana provides organizational development services for businesses, non-profit organizations, administrations and INGOs. In this regard, her work is based on a systemic-constructivist approach, applying constellation work and solution-focused counseling and other techniques.
Dirk Splinter is a senior mediator and mediation trainer with more than 15 years of experience in this field. As a co-director of Inmedio Berlin, Institute for Mediation, Consulting and Development, he runs mediation processes for individuals, groups and organizations in German-speaking countries and in post-conflict and transition countries in Africa, Asia, and South-East Europe.
He also designs and implements conflict management systems for organizations such as hospitals, public administrations and large or medium-sized businesses, as well as community mediation programs.
Dirk was a directing trainer for more than thirty 200-hour professional mediation courses run in accordance with the standards of the German Federal Association of Mediation (BM) in the last 15 years. He also serves as a mediation trainer for a number of post-graduate mediation training courses run by German and Swiss universities in Berlin/Frankfurt Oder, Berne, and Baden.
