Film and Discussion with Jack DuVall, Executive Producer

Join the Program on Negotiation (PON) for a partial screening of A FORCE MORE POWERFUL, the Emmy-nominated PBS series that portrays the strategies at the heart of six major nonviolent struggles. We will show the program on the 1980 Gdansk shipyard strikes in Poland where ordinary workers used nonviolent tactics and shrewd negotiating skills to force a crucial opening in Polish history which eventually led to the demise of the communist regime. Documentary runtime is 30 minutes. Free food and drinks.

Executive Producer and co-author of the companion book (of the same name) Jack DuVall will introduce the program and facilitate a discussion on nonviolent action after the documentary. Mr. DuVall is also the President and founding Director of the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict, based in Washington, D.C.
